The error "Video file selection required" means no source file was attached before clicking Start. The software requires at least one video/audio file (or a folder, if the Folder checkbox is ticked) to be selected before the pipeline can begin.
Fix:
- Click the Select audio or video button at the top-left of the main window.
- Choose your video/audio file (mp4/mkv/avi/mov/wav/mp3 etc.). If you want to batch-process a folder, tick the Folder checkbox first, then select the folder.
- Confirm the file path now appears in the top row of the interface.
- Verify the language settings are valid — in v4.12 the source language must be explicitly chosen (do not rely on auto-detect for video translation).
- Click Start again.
Note: your software is extracted at C:/Users/maian/Downloads/win-pyvideotrans-v4.12-0908, which is under the Downloads folder — a path containing no Chinese characters or spaces, so that is acceptable. However, if the error persists, move sp.exe to a shallow pure-English path such as D:\pyVideoTrans and retry, since files in Downloads are sometimes blocked by antivirus, which can prevent the file dialog from returning a valid selection.
If the file is selected but the error still appears, provide the last ~30 lines of the latest log file in the logs/ folder of your install directory.
