This means no valid audio/video file was passed to the task. The software requires you to select a file (or check the folder option) before clicking Start, and the file must be reachable and in a supported format (mp4/mkv/avi/mov/wav/mp3).
- Click the top-left "Select audio or video" button and pick your file again (or tick the Folder checkbox to process a whole directory).
- Confirm the file path is simple and valid: only English letters/digits/underscores, no Chinese characters, spaces, emoji or special symbols, and not too deep a directory (e.g.
D:/videos/001.mp4). - If you previously selected a file that was renamed, moved, or deleted, re-select it.
- If you only checked "Folder" but the folder contains no supported media, this error also appears — verify the folder actually holds mp4/mkv/avi/mov/wav/mp3 files.
- Do not start the task from the CLI/WebUI without the required
--name argument (VTV task requires --name, --source_language_code, --target_language_code).
If the file is correctly selected but the error persists, provide the latest log file from the logs/ folder in D:/Downloads/win-pyvideotrans-v4.12-0913 (last ~30 lines) for analysis.
