The 429 error is triggered by Google Translate's free web endpoint rate-limiting your IP. Google has detected the request frequency as abnormal and returned a "sorry" CAPTCHA page instead of a translation. Two typical causes: an untrusted/proxy IP node, or too many requests in a short period.

Solutions (in order of preference):

  1. Switch translation channel (best fix). The free Google endpoint is inherently unstable and prone to this error. In Translate channel, replace it with an AI LLM channel:

    • Apply for a DeepSeek API key at https://platform.deepseek.com (top-up as low as 1 CNY), enter it in Menu → Translation Settings → DeepSeek, then select DeepSeek from the translation channel dropdown. Quality is better than Google and it is far more stable.
    • Or use M2M100 (built-in), a fully offline local translation model (first use will auto-download the model to <Root>/models/m2m100_12b).

  2. If you must use Google Translate:

    • Switch your proxy/VPN to a cleaner node (a shared or flagged IP will be blocked).
    • Lower request frequency: Menu → Tools → Advanced Options → Subtitle Translation, set Pause (s) after each translation request to a larger value, and reduce Batch size (lines) for traditional translation.
    • Wait a period (several minutes to hours) before retrying, as the block is temporary.
  3. Note on your current config: You are translating English → Italian, and Italian belongs to the top 20-30 mainstream languages, so any channel (including DeepSeek) will work with correct language-code mapping — there is no need to stick with Google.

It is recommended to switch to DeepSeek or M2M100 and re-run; no other settings need changing.
