The error "Video file selection required" means no valid input file has been selected before clicking Start. The software refuses to run because the mandatory first-step input (the audio/video file, or a folder) is empty.

Please check the following:

  1. Select a file first — Click the top-left button Select audio or video and choose at least one file (mp4/mkv/avi/mov/wav/mp3, etc.). This step is mandatory.

    • If you want to batch-process, tick the Folder checkbox and select a folder instead.
  2. Verify the path is valid and safe — Move the file to a simple all-English path (e.g. D:\videos\test.mp4). Paths containing non-English characters, spaces, or special symbols (note your current root_dir contains OneDrive/Desktop with mixed casing and hyphens) can cause the selection to fail silently.
  3. Confirm the file is not locked/cloud-only — Since your project sits inside OneDrive, the file may be a cloud placeholder not yet downloaded locally. Right-click the file → Always keep on this device, or copy it out of the OneDrive folder and try again.
  4. Re-select after any error — If a previous run failed, click Select audio or video again to re-pick the file, then click Start.

If the issue persists after selecting a valid local file, provide the last ~30 lines of the latest log file in the logs/ folder so the exact cause can be determined.
