This is a network connectivity failure when calling the Gemini translation API. The error [WinError 10053] An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine indicates the local network connection to Google's Gemini servers was forcibly closed — typically caused by proxy/VPN issues or unstable network connections to Google services (which require a working proxy in mainland China).

Solutions:

  1. Verify your proxy is running and correctly configured.
In the main interface, find the Network Proxy text box (on the Alignment row, right side) and enter a valid HTTP proxy, e.g. http://127.0.0.1:10808. Make sure the proxy service is actually running and the port is correct. An invalid or wrong proxy address will cause all network requests to fail. If you don't need a proxy, clear the box and save.
  2. Check your VPN/proxy stability.
Gemini requires access to Google servers. Even with a VPN, an unstable connection to Google may trigger WinError 10053. Switch to a more stable node/proxy and retry.
  3. If you can't get Gemini working, switch to a domestic AI channel instead.
Use DeepSeek or another domestic LLM for subtitle translation (go to Menu → Translation Settings → fill in your DeepSeek API key, then select DeepSeek in the translation channel dropdown). Domestic APIs do not require a proxy.
  4. Also make sure your API address field is not set to 0.0.0.0.
If so, change it to 127.0.0.1.

Note: your software is installed at E:/py video translator which contains a space in the path. Spaces are generally tolerated but other special characters can cause issues; keeping the path simple (English letters/digits only) is recommended.
