Yes. You can import your own pre-translated SRT, and pyVideoTrans will skip the ASR and/or translation stage and use your file directly.

How it works (default output-location rule matters):

  1. Suppose the video is D:/videos/myvideo.mp4. Create the folder D:/videos/_video_out/ and inside it a subfolder named exactly after the video with format suffix: _video_out/myvideo-mp4/.

    • Note: since v3.87 the folder must include the format suffix, e.g. myvideo-mp4, video1-avi.
  2. Put your SRT files there, named with standard language codes:

    • en.srt = source/Spoken language subtitle
    • zh-cn.srt = Target language subtitle (your manual translation)
  3. In the main window select the video and run the task.

    • If zh-cn.srt exists, the software treats it as the already-translated target subtitle and skips the translation step (it will still perform ASR to create the Spoken-language subtitle, so to avoid that set Spoken language equal to Target language).
  4. Critical: do NOT check Clear Output (清理已生成) — it will delete your existing SRT files. Also do NOT click Save To... (输出到...) — otherwise the software will no longer look in the default _video_out location and won't find your file.

Batch method (many videos): keep each video and its subtitle in the same folder, with identical names (only the extension differs), e.g. 123.mp4 + 123.srt. Then use Menu → Tools/Options → Batch Create Directory Structure, select the videos (Ctrl/Ctrl+A), set the subtitle text language to the real language of the subtitle, and the structure will be created automatically.

Also make sure the subtitle filename language code matches a supported code (e.g. en, zh-cn, ja … see the language code list), otherwise the file will not be matched.
