This is a network connection failure, not a software bug. The error [WinError 10053] An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine means the connection to the Gemini API server was aborted by your local machine/network — almost always caused by an unstable proxy/VPN, or a proxy that is not configured at all.

Since the Gemini channel requires access to Google servers, you must have a working and stable proxy.

  1. Confirm your proxy software (VPN/代理) is running and can actually reach Google services.
  2. In the pyVideoTrans main window, on the Alignment (对齐) row, find the network proxy textbox on the right side, and fill in your http proxy, e.g. http://127.0.0.1:10808 (make sure the port is correct for your proxy tool).
  3. Click save, then retry. Do not leave the proxy box empty if your network cannot directly access Google.
  4. If the proxy is already set, try switching to a different/more stable proxy node — free or unstable nodes frequently abort long-running connections (this is the most common cause).
  5. If your proxy still fails, switch the translation channel to a domestic AI model such as DeepSeek (no proxy needed, cheaper and better quality), or use the free Microsoft翻译 channel.

Note: WinError 10053 is a local network-layer abort, so it will not be fixed by reinstalling or changing software settings — the root cause is the network/proxy environment.
