The error means the selected task expects an SRT subtitle file as input, but the file you supplied is not a valid .srt file (wrong extension, empty, or not SRT-formatted).
Common causes:
- You are using the Text-to-Speech (文字配音) or Translate SRT (翻译字幕) function, which only accepts
.srt or plain .txt (TTS) / .srt (translation) files — not video/audio. - The file is not actually SRT format (no valid
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:00,000 timecodes), so it is read as plain text or rejected. - The file is empty or corrupted.
Steps to fix:
- Confirm which left-panel function you are using. If you want to translate a video/audio, use Translation V/A (视频翻译) instead of TTS/Translate SRT.
- Verify the file extension is exactly
.srt (enable "File name extensions" in Windows Explorer to be sure it is not xxx.srt.txt). Open the file and confirm it contains valid SRT timecodes, e.g.:
1
00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:03,500
Hello world
- If it is a plain text file for dubbing, ensure it is saved as
.txt and non-empty. - Re-import the file and run again.
If the file is confirmed valid SRT and the error persists, send the latest log file from the software's logs/ folder (copy the last ~30 lines of the error) so the exact failure can be identified.
