This message means the software cannot start the task because no video/audio file has been selected.
Cause: The required first field Select Video/Audio on the main interface is empty. pyVideoTrans will not run without an input file.
Steps:
Click the button Select Video/Audio (top-left of the main window).
Choose one or more files with speech (mp4/mkv/avi/mov/wav/mp3 etc.).
If you want to batch-process an entire directory, tick Folder before selecting.
If you want to re-translate the same file, tick Clear Output; otherwise it may reuse previously generated subtitles/audio.
Make sure the other three required rows are also set: STT Service, TranslateSrt (with Spoken/Target language), and TTS Service (with a voice role). If you only want transcription, use the left panel Speech-to-Text instead.
Click Start.
Notes:
Do not double-click sp.exe inside the archive — extract first to a simple English path (e.g. E:/pyvideotransb is fine).
Very long file paths or filenames containing special characters can cause ffmpeg/ffprobe errors; keep names short and simple.
