Cause: HTTP 403 from wss://speech.platform.bing.com/.../edge/v1 means Microsoft's free Edge-TTS endpoint has temporarily rate-limited/blocked your outbound IP (or the proxy node you are routed through). It is not a software bug, and it happens when requests are sent too fast, or when the proxy IP is flagged as abnormal.

Fixes (in order):

  1. Throttle Edge-TTS

    • Menu → Tools/Options → Advanced Options → 【Dubbing / 字幕配音调整】
    • Set EdgeTTS配音渠道配音并发数 (The higher concurrent of EdgeTTS) = 1
    • Set 配音后暂停秒 (Pause (s) after each dubbing request) = 5–10 (even 10–15 if still failing)
    • Retry the task. Edge-TTS throttling bans are temporary; waiting 30–60 minutes also helps.

  2. Check proxy usage

    • If you filled a proxy in the text box at the right of the Alignment row, verify it is a valid, clean endpoint (format http://127.0.0.1:port or socks5://127.0.0.1:port). A dirty/blocked VPN node is a common cause of 403.
    • If no proxy is needed, clear the proxy text box.
    • If you must keep a proxy for other channels but want Edge-TTS to bypass it, create an empty file named edgetts-noproxy.txt in the software root directory (C:/Users/doris/Desktop/Pyvideotrans-v4.15/).
    • Changing your public IP (restart router, switch VPN node) often immediately restores Edge-TTS.

  3. Switch to another dubbing channel

    • Free: gTTS (needs access to Google)
    • Built-in local: Qwen3-TTS, F5-TTS, OmniVoice-TTS, Confucius-TTS, ChatterBox, Piper, VITS
    • Local API: Index-TTS, GPT-SoVITS, CosyVoice, VoxCPM-TTS
      Note: your target language here is French, so pick a channel that supports French (Edge-TTS, gTTS, OmniVoice-TTS, Qwen-TTS, Confucius-TTS, etc. all do).
