This is not a software bug — it is a DNS resolution failure (network layer). The error socket.gaierror: [Errno 11001] getaddrinfo failed / Failed to resolve 'edge.microsoft.com' means the system cannot resolve the domain name at all, so the translation request never even reached Microsoft's server.

Additional note from your log: you selected Google Translate (Free), but the traceback shows it fell back to the Microsoft channel — because since v4.13, when Google fails/is rate-limited, the software automatically switches to Microsoft, and both failed for the same DNS reason. Also proxy_str=None, meaning no proxy was configured.

Fix steps (in order)

Confirm the machine has Internet / DNS
- Press Win+R → type cmd → run:
  - nslookup edge.microsoft.com
  - ping edge.microsoft.com
- If these also fail, your computer's DNS or network is broken, not the software.
Change DNS servers
- Windows: 控制面板 → 网络和 Internet → 网络连接 → right-click your adapter → 属性 → IPv4 → 使用下面的 DNS 服务器地址:
  - Preferred: 8.8.8.8 (or 114.114.114.114)
  - Alternate: 1.1.1.1
- Then run ipconfig /flushdns in cmd.
Check firewall / antivirus / VPN client
- Some antivirus and VPN clients (especially those with a "TUN"/"system proxy" mode that is turned off) can hijack DNS and block it. Temporarily disable them and retest.
If you are in mainland China and want to use Google/Microsoft translation
- Both are blocked/unstable without a proxy. Fill your proxy in the main interface — the proxy box on the right side of the Alignment row, format http://127.0.0.1:10808 (must match your actual local proxy port, and the proxy program must be running).
- Alternatively, create a file named edgetts-noproxy.txt in the software root folder is only for Edge-TTS; for translation just clear an invalid proxy rather than filling a wrong address — an invalid proxy address will make all requests fail.
Recommended: switch to a translation channel that does not depend on those endpoints
- Select DeepSeek (or 智谱AI / 阿里百炼 / 字节火山) in the TranslateSrt dropdown, and fill your API key in Menu → Translation Settings.
- DeepSeek is cheap, works inside China without a proxy, and translation quality is far better than Google/Microsoft free channels, especially for Persian.
- If you want fully offline translation, use M2M100(Built-in) (model downloads on first use to 软件目录/models/m2m100_12b).
Re-run the task
- Tick Clear Output (清理已生成) before retrying, so the previous failed cache/srt is discarded.

If after doing the above you still get a connection error but with a different host/error code (e.g. 429, 401, 404), please provide the bottom ~30 lines of the latest log file in D:/V/logs/.
