This is caused by Microsoft's free Edge-TTS interface rate-limiting your IP; the returned HTTP status 429 means requests were sent too fast and too frequently, not a configuration or model error.

Solution (in order):

  1. Lower the concurrency: open Menu → Tools/Options → Advanced Options → Dubbing, set EdgeTTS Max Concurrency to 1, and set Post-Dubbing Delay (s) to between 5 and 10.
  2. Turn off the proxy: if the software has a proxy filled in, clear it; or create an empty edgetts-noproxy.txt in the software root directory to force EdgeTTS to bypass the proxy. Proxy node IPs are likely to be flagged, causing 429.
  3. Retry later: after being rate-limited, wait 10–30 minutes before running the task again; running it immediately will most likely result in 429 again.
  4. If it still fails: switch to another TTS channel. For English you can use Qwen3-TTS(Built-in), ChatterBox(Built-in), or gTTS(Free) (the latter requires a proxy in mainland China).
  5. Note on version: v4.16 has fixed the Edge-TTS 403 authentication issue, but 429 is rate-limiting and cannot be solved by code; it can only be alleviated by lowering the frequency as in steps 1–3.

In addition, your temporary and output directories are under C:/Users/HP/Downloads. It is recommended to move the software to a short English path such as D:/pyvideotrans to avoid subsequent errors caused by path or permission issues.
