This message is a pre-start validation prompt: the main window did not receive a valid video file path when you clicked Start, so it is not a processing error. The knowledge base has no documented cause for a file that appears selected but is still rejected, so the specific cause cannot be determined at present.
Check the following first:
- Confirm the file actually appears in the video list at the top of the main window (not just highlighted in the file picker); if the list is empty, reselect the file.
- Confirm the file path is a shallow directory containing only English letters, digits and underscores; remove emoji, spaces and special symbols from the file name and from any parent folder (videos from YouTube/Bilibili often carry very long names and emoji, which break path handling).
- Confirm you are not in
Folder mode with an empty or unreadable folder selected. - Confirm the file is a format the software supports (mp4/mkv/avi/mov/wav/mp3) and is readable — on macOS, if the file resides in an iCloud/network drive or a sandboxed location, grant the terminal full disk access.
- If you have just changed the output directory via
Save To..., make sure that directory exists and is writable.
If the file is clearly in the list and it still refuses to start, please provide the last 30 lines or so of the newest log file in the logs/ folder under /Users/tk-lpt-1043/Documents/products/pyvideotrans (the error stack will show whether the path is being parsed as empty or invalid) so it can be analyzed.
