This error occurs in the "Listen or preview voice" feature: ListenVoice.py calls the TTS channel, and a RuntimeError is thrown from the TTS base class. Because the exception carries no specific message, the cause cannot be determined from the stack alone.

Currently, only the following can be confirmed and handled:

  1. The version you are using is v3.99, which is far behind the current version (the knowledge base targets v4.17). Many TTS channel errors in older versions, such as Edge-TTS 403, index-tts/VoxCPM's API URL is error, and Higgs's isatty, have been fixed in later versions. First download the latest full package and overwrite it, then retry: https://pyvideotrans.com/downpackage
  2. If you are previewing a clone voice: the clone voice is only available in video translation; it cannot be used in standalone Text-to-Speech, and previewing it will definitely fail.
  3. If you are previewing a local API channel (GPT-SoVITS/Index-TTS/CosyVoice/VoxCPM/Fish-TTS, etc.): confirm that the corresponding service is running, that the API address filled in is the API port (not the WebUI port), and that 0.0.0.0 is not used; it must be 127.0.0.1.

The specific cause cannot be determined for now. Please provide the latest log file in the logs/ folder under the software installation directory (copy about the last 30 lines around the error) so that it can be analyzed.
