This error means the software did not detect any valid video/audio file in the task list when "Start Execution" was clicked.
Common causes and fixes:
- No file actually selected: click the
Select Video/Audio button in the upper-left corner, choose the file in the dialog, and confirm that a file name appears in the input field, then click Start Execution. - Path or file name abnormal (most common): if the path contains Chinese characters, spaces, emoji, or special symbols, or if the full path is too long, the file may fail to be added to the list. Move the video to a shallow directory (e.g.
D:/video1.mp4), rename it using only English letters and digits, and re-import it. - Running directly inside the archive: if you double-clicked
sp.exe without extracting the package, file reading fails. Extract the full package to a directory on disk (e.g. D:/pyvideotrans), then run sp.exe from there. - Checked
Folder but the folder is empty or the path is invalid: uncheck Folder and select a single file to test. - File format unsupported or the file is corrupted: test with a standard mp4 to confirm the software can read it.
If the above steps are done and the file name still does not appear in the input field after selection, provide the last ~30 lines of the latest log in the logs/ folder under D:/win-pyvideotrans-v4.18-1106.
