This error is caused by Google Translate's free endpoint rate-limiting your IP, not by pyVideoTrans itself. When requests are sent too frequently (or your proxy IP is flagged by Google), Google returns 429 Too Many Requests and redirects to its /sorry/ anti-abuse page.

Solutions (in order of priority):

  1. Increase request interval: Go to Menu → Tools/Options → Advanced Options → Translation, and increase Pause (s) after each translation request (e.g. set to 3–10 seconds). Also set Batch size (lines) for traditional translation to a smaller value (like 1–5).

  2. Switch to a different translation channel (recommended):

    • DeepSeek — far better quality, very low cost. Register at https://platform.deepseek.com/, top up (1 CNY is enough), get an API key, then enter it in Menu → Translation Settings → DeepSeek, and select DeepSeek as the translation channel.
    • Microsoft Translate (free) — may work without a VPN, but is also rate-limited under heavy use.
    • M2M100 (built-in) — fully offline local translation, no rate limits. The model downloads on first use to 软件目录/models/m2m100_12b.
  3. If you must use Google Translate: ensure your VPN/proxy is enabled (Google is blocked in mainland China) and switch to a cleaner IP / different VPN node — Google frequently flags IPs shared by many VPN users. You can also fill in a proxy in the http proxy textbox on the alignment control row of the main interface, e.g. http://127.0.0.1:10808.
  4. Wait and retry: Google's temporary rate-limit block usually clears after a period of time.

Note: Your log also shows a Vietnamese target language with a Chinese source. If you switch to DeepSeek for translation, translation quality for zh→vi will be significantly better than Google's free endpoint anyway.
